Currently, the price of 5% broken rice is at 393 USD/ton; 25% broken rice is 378 USD/ton, 100% broken rice is 383 USD/ton. While the price of Vietnamese rice remains stable, the price of Thai rice continues to increase by 1 USD/ton to 418 USD/ton for 5% broken rice; 397 USD/ton for 25% broken rice and 431 USD/ton for 100% broken rice. At this price, Vietnamese rice is currently 19 – 48 USD/ton lower than the same type of Thai rice. Mr. Nguyen Van Don – Director of Viet Hung Company Limited said that more than 2/3 of the Summer-Autumn rice area has been harvested, the rice price is falling, affecting farmers’ income.
